Day 7: Fair & Lovely challenge

Day 7 of the Fair & Lovely challenge and it ended abruptly as Roja left for her native town. Anyways there’s nothing much to write about, challenge was disastrous, no tangible output, just broken heart and disappointment. Roja was in high spirits all through the week however her enthusiasm and optimism didn’t produce any results.

On the other hand Latha is still struggling with the rashes and she feels there’s no change to her skin tone. Both girls have given a thumbs down to Fair & Lovely fairness cream. They didn’t have any angry comments however they feel the marketers need to be more responsible in terms of the Advertisements.

Verdict is simple, ย Fair & Lovely failed big time.

Sadly there are no pics for today. Anyways it’s of no use.

    Day 6: Fair &Lovely challenge

Day 6 of the Fair & Lovely challenge and it’s the same old story. In a ย nation obsessed with “fairness”ย ย it’s more than a crime for a girl to be on the darker side. And I wouldn’t want my niece to be discriminated just because of her skin tone ๐Ÿ˜

I understand one cannot change their basic skin color however fairness cream’s like Fair & Lovely have made their millions catering to this insecurity and madness of we Indians. Anyways I can’t blame them, I’m just disappointed with the results.

Here’s Roja on Day 6, I have sneaked into the frame for some cheap publicity, bear my “charming” looks ย ๐Ÿ˜›

hey..i want to tell u dat all of us are born wid a basic skin colour that gets it’s colour from melanin. it is a genetic code given to us by our parents. if ur parents r dark, u will be dark. if ur parents are light skinned, u will be light skinned. so, u can not change the colour of the skin u were born with. that’s why africans have black kids and white people don’t have black babies. if u get fair skin, either both or one of ur parents or ancestors were fair. i can understand ur concern for fair skin coz india is a pre-industrialized racist country. i want to tell u that you should not feel sad because of your skin tone. maintain a healthy skin, have a good body, enhance your features. deepika padukone, bipasha basu, chitrangada singh, etc. are dark skinned but named most beautiful women of india. if you still want to lighten your skin tone, you can use milk, besan, turmeric and lemon face pack. also, you can use a product with liquorice (mulethi) extracts, kojic acid and niacinamide (which fair and lovely contains). also, use retin-a for exfoliation every other night. any treatment should be used for 2-3 months and sunscreen 50 and above is a must. have confidence. Westerners vie for our tanned look!

“I have sneaked into the frame for some cheap publicity…” haha, nice one. Being away I didn’t follow these postings but I think I get the picture. Ironic that we whiteys want to be brown or at least tanned. Roja is lovely the way she is. Sad that there is so much pressure to lighten the skin tone. I, for one, find Indian people elegant in their skin tones and especially the way the ladies dress with such colour and style. Tell Roja she’s just fine – in fact, very fine indeed.

Day 5: Fair & Lovely Challenge

Day 5 of the Fair & lovely challenge and there’s nothing encouraging to write about ๐Ÿ˜ฆย I guess it’s going to take more than a week to see significant results.ย ย Honestly, I’m disappointed with the way this Fair & Lovely challenge is going.

    Here’s Roja on Day 5

Day 4: Fair & Lovely challenge

Day 4 of Fair & Lovely challenge, still no changes. In fact Latha is experiencing rashes on her right cheek not sure if it is due to Fair & Lovely though. Anyways she has decided to continue with the cream.

I’m not really happy with the results, Roja looks the same as she did on Day 1. A hairline fracture on her right toe has kept her indoors all these days, zero exposure to sun, but surprisingly Fair & Lovely has no effect on her ๐Ÿ˜ฆ ย Here’s her pic

Day 3: Fair & Lovely Challenge

Day 3 of the fair & lovely challenge and still no changes ๐Ÿ˜ฆ ย However, Roja seems to be enjoying the process, she goes about applying the cream religiously. And, the smile on her face suggests she doesn’t really care about the outcome but I do.

Meanwhile, Latha is looking brighter but I guess it’s because of the gifts and greetings she received on her birthday or ย is it the Fair & Lovely effect? No idea. Sadly, can’t post her pic ย ๐Ÿ™‚

Here’s Roja on Day 3. Any comments?

Day 2: Fair & Lovely Challenge

Day 2 of the Fair & Lovely challenge and there’s hardly any change from Day 1. Guess Fair & lovely will take effect only after couple of days. As of now both girls look pretty much the same. However, Latha was angered to see her pic on my Blog, she threatened to sue me ๐Ÿ™‚ So, I have decided to go with Roja, she has sportingly agreed to go live on my Blog. yyaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyy!!! to Roja. Booooooooo!!! to Latha

By the way, today is Latha’s 26th Birthday. Best wishes to her. She will continue with the Fair & Lovely challenge but no pics ๐Ÿ™‚

Meantime, here’s Roja on Day 2, I don’t see any difference from Day 1. Do you?

Day 1: Fair & Lovely Challenge

Off late there’s a sudden spurt in TVC’s of fairness creams. Several productย companiesย are trying hard to woo the public. So, I thought of doing a small experiment. Here are the details

    Topic: Fairness challenge

    Product: Fairness Cream

    Brand: Fair & Lovelyย

To do: Apply fairness cream twice a day ( as per instructions )

    Guineaย Pigs: Latha and Roja

    Duration: 11th July – 17th July

We started this challenge last night, here is the pic.

Note the spots on Roja’s forehead and Latha’s right cheek ( sorry it’s hidden ๐Ÿ˜› ). The company claims that consistent use of the cream for a week will reduce spots and increase fairness.ย lets track this.

P.S: Please share your beauty tips. Help these girls get rid of their skin travails and attain flawless skin.
