    Doing something different, Loved it

Today was dull and boring, I needed something to add some zing. So, I didn something which I wouldn’t on a normal day. I bought a huge box of Mocha Brownie Fudge and ate few generous scoops :D. It was amazing to eat some refreshing and remarkable  fudge. I love the nuts they have in the fudge. yummy! Later on, I got a call from a crazy lady, she wanted me to listen to lady gaga’s “Born this way”. She insisted I play it as we spoke, I did, and 2 minutes into that wild, noisy song I hit the stop button. And, I played Justin Beiber’s “Baby” to annoy her that was some fun. I like that song, it has such simple lyrics [ there a rap piece in between which I don’t follow ]. I think Beiber guy will be a big star but, I hope he doesn’t he loose his head like Miley Cyrus. I must confess I was a huge Hannah Montana fan, Hmmm, have seen all the episodes of I & II seasons. But after her insane makeover, I hate her 😦 Why Miley? Whyyyyyyyyyy?

Anyways, after the call, I went on to watch television, sipping cola and flipping channels, following bit of Cricket, not in mood for Cricket today. At 8 it was time for ” How I met your mom” on Star. But, my mother was watching the TV with me, so I gave it miss, didn’t want to embarrass myself with her around 😀 . I like that show, especially, Lily, she’s so dumb and sweet.

Then a quick dinner, 3 chappatis with dal and scrambled egg. I tried to watch the match but for some reason my mind was tuned out of Cricket today. So, I had another scoop of Mocha fudge and guzzled down more Cola. This is something which I wouldn’t do usually, but doing that made me feel better, I guess I’m going to listen to few songs now :D. Trying something different, though I know a little later music would freak me out. 😐

Hey, there’s one more important thing I did this evening. I played Sundara Kanda shlokas on my laptop, my good friend, Arvinth said listening to that would bring good fortune and peace. So, I gave it a try. Never say never to stuff which would address the need for happiness and peace. So, as I finish this post my evening has got lot better. Alright it’s time to listen to few dhinchak songs :D.

I like this, Narendra, because it tells me about your day. And it looks like you had a completely indulgent time without feeling guilty (and it cheers me up as I start Friday feeling very tired)

The bizarre world of Narendra Reddy

We all have a bizarre side to ourselves don’t we? Things which most people around us might never notice or know. One the outlook I believe I come across as any other guy in his late 20s however, there is a weird side to me which very few know. Here’s a sneak peak into my insane world.

    1. Music is my life….NOT..NO WAY

I don’t enjoy music, I repeat I DON’T enjoy music. This is by far the most exasperating aspect of my life. I myself fail to understand my complete detachment from music. I simply do not relate to music. I can’t follow the lyrics, beats, rhythms, tunes blah blah, OMG, just can’t. My mind would shut down if I heard ( not listen, just heard ) music for more than 15 minutes. Whosoever says music is the soul of life, I’m sorry, I Wish there was no music, it’s such a bore.

    2. Short cut to hell

Religious places scare me to death, especially Hindu temples. Ridiculously old structures, foggy atmosphere, dim lighting, chants of shlokas, sound of bells, all makes me go pale and sick. I never been to a temple in the last 8 years. My parents don’t even know their son’s an agnostic, poor them. Luckily for me, they never force me into any religious crap.

    3. No Shopping, No Girlfriend

I shop alone. Yes! all alone. I seldom go with others, be it my purchase or theirs. By and large my shopping is need driven, not pleasure driven. I finish shopping in minutes. The first thing I  like goes into the bag and I’m out of there. No crazy number of trials or window shopping. ( Which means no girl friends.. lol )

    4. Sweet tooth

I don’t enjoy Ice creams and Chocolates. I do buy plenty of Chocolates to give away to my friends ( especially the little girls ) however, I rarely eat them. This is largely because my dad never encouraged me to eat Chocos and Sweets. Yes.. Yes, at times I agree with him.

    5. Life is a Party

I don’t attend parties. I feel so lost in the crowd. People act so fake at parties, it disgusts me. I strongly believe  parties are for losers, people go there to boost their self esteem.

I guess by now you would be wondering, How is he still alive? LOL ( Ok, not funny )

    6. Giant Screen

I rarely watch movies at a Cinema hall. The last time I went there was in June 2009. In fact in the last 6 years I have seen only 3 movies at the theaters.  For some reason the entire movie going process makes me feel low . Moreover, It’s so dark out there.

    7. I love myself for this

I don’t drink, smoke or do drugs. As a matter of fact, never tried. This has to go down as bizarre simply because I don’t know anyone else of my age in that category. With life in a large city where kids going nuts at an early age, I take huge pride for successfully staying clear from the unwanted.

    8. I don’t text ( SMS )

Is it all real? Is he saying the truth? Can he still live happily? Does he have friends? Hello?

    How Bizarre Narendra

I really enjoyed reading this. I was at Subway having breakfast when I read your post. I don’t care much for chocolate, so I hear you on that. It’s interesting that you don’t like music at all. I find that very odd. I can’t live without music. And I love going to my church. It is my sanctuary from this big and scary world. I like #7. Good for you!!

      • Narendra 10:29 am on February 17, 2011 Permalink | Reply

        Thank you Sheryl…
You know when I was younger, I used to lie to people about music..I used to give them huge playlist and fool around as if I was keen on music…but really, music is something I just don’t connect with…I do keep track of latest news..I must say Justin Beiber’s Baby and Akon’s Hold my hands..are extremely lovable ^^

      1. ok im with u on the music thing…i listen to it sometimes, yes…but regularly no. my ipod has the same songs i first put in 2006 when i first bought it. in fact..i remember transferring them from the mp3 player i had before….which i think i got in 2004 or 2005. i hardly update it. i still have ub40 and savage garden in it. nothing much more recent.
      2. religion..much rather not comment here.
      3. yayyy no gf 😀 no kharcha…bach gaye 😉 im with u on the shopping thing tho..eesh i find shopping annoying, and im a girl.
      4. NO MEETHA???? hows that even possible? im not a chocolate person either (theres a reason) but no ICECREAM??? u NEED to come in karachi in mango season…i swear i can convert u!
      5 and 6. i agree…parties r annoying and the big screen = headache.
      7. NO TXT?? dont tell me u pick up the phone and actually call ppl when u need to speak to them?

Are you serious? How do you Live? LOL

I like the kaccha aam… This half of India gets huge supply of mangoes too..however, I don’t take liking towards the ripe ones…

SMSing is such a bore. I wud rather call someone than send bakwaas texts. Fwds are a big no-no too.. BTW my sis loves SMS thing..crazy..lol

        • sufia 3:50 pm on February 17, 2011 Permalink | Reply

its not that i find SMS interesting, its more the fact that i find talking on the phone boring. needless chit chat…u have to say hi hello and make small chat before u actually get to the point..then u have to make more small chat before u hang up. my brain starts switching off abt half a min in the conversation.

and to be honest? i have 8000 (yes, 8 thousand) free sms/mth and only 450 free mins from my provider. .. u talk even one second and they charge u for a full minute. the sms package expires at the end of the mth, so i might as well use it up.

Hmmm.. interesting you not into chit-chat, bad girl
I do agree it makes perfect sense to make best use of the mobile schemes. Value for money.

aur haan, same pinch ( virtual pinch ) for sharing similar eccentricities…

Yes, I agree with Selvakumar there. You’ve told us the things you don’t like – compliment that by telling us what you like.

Narendra, as “bizarre” as you think you are, you were brave to tell your readers “about you”, letting us peek into your world and personality of who you really are.

Not everyone would be comfortable to mention where they are clearly different from others – for fear of being criticized.

Nice post there, would that be your “About Me’ page? lol

I look forward to reading the part 2 – “The Cool Things that Narendra Reddy Likes”.

BTW, thanks for coming by my blog.

Yaaaayyyyyyyyyy….. I guess there’s no shame in sharing one’s choices..However, It’s important not to disrespect others choices…so, all good..am comfortable..
BTW..I will have to figure out stuff which I really really “Like” 😀

I had left few queries on your portal. I’m looking forward to your responses. Thanks Stella.
